How do Cardholders Self-Register to use the Yard Card Account Manager?

Yard Card Accont Manager Self Registration

Midshipmen and other Yard Card holders must self register to create a login and password before they can use the Yard Card Account Manager.

To register, go to the Yard Card Account Manager page and click on Sign Up, in the Cardholder Self Registration section.

Under Cardholder Information, enter your first and last name and USNA email address. Your Campus ID has been sent to your email address. For Midshipmen, your Campus ID is your Alpha.

Under Authentication, create a User Name, Password, Security Question and Answer. It is your responsibility to remember these. Once registered, you will be able to change your password. Click Register to complete the registration process.

Once registered, you can use the Yard Card Account Manager site to make deposits, view your Yard Card account balances and recent activity and change your Profile information. Midshipmen can also view their Mid Charge account balances and activity.

How do I Make a Deposit to My Midshipman’s Yard Card?

Your Midshipman has been issued a Yard Card, you may use the Yard Card Account Manager page to add money to their Yard Cards. If your Midshipman does not already have a Yard Card, please contact the Yard Card Cash Office at 410-293-0414 to start a Yard Card account for your Midshipman. You can use credit cards and debit cards bearing the Visa and MasterCard logo to make a deposit to a Yard Card account. We do not charge any processing or administrative fees for these deposit transactions.

To make a deposit, visit the Yard Card Account Manager web page. Click on Make Deposit in the Make a Depost to a Cardholder’s Account section. You will then be taken to a deposit screen to enter your credit card information. Enter your Midshipman’s Alpha code in the Alpha or Customer # field and click on Lookup Cardholder. Under Fund, select Yard Card and then enter the Amount you’d like to deposit and fill out the Credit Card billing information. Once you’ve completed this screen, click on Make Deposit.

For a US Naval Academy Midshipman, the Yard Card is an essential component of the Naval Academy living and learning environment. The Yard Card serves as a reloadable debit/gift card that can be used like cash for purchases at participating locations throughout the Naval Academy Yard including retail store locations, coffee bar and dining locations, Bancroft Hall vending machine locations, textbooks and more! Once funded, the Yard Card can be used for purchases – without needing a credit card or cash. Funds deposited in your Midshipman’s account will be available immediately. By making sure your Midshipman’s account is adequately funded for the start of the academic year, your Midshipman will be prepared for anything he or she may need and can conveniently keep track of daily balances through the Yard Card online Account Manager at http://www.usnabsd.com/yard-card-account/.

The Yard Card is accepted as a form of payment in these locations.

Most importantly, proceeds from the above activities are returned to the Brigade of Midshipmen in the form of funding for the Midshipmen Welfare Fund!

For those of you with Midshipmen that already have Yard Card Accounts,you may add funds in any amount to your Midshipman’s account safely and securely online by visiting us at the Yard Card Account Manager. All Class of 2017 Plebes will be issued a Yard Card by August 2012 and will be able to make deposits to these cards as of August 1, 2012. You can also make a deposit via telephone by contacting the Yard Card Cash Office at 410-293-0414. Once funded, the account balance will decline with each purchase your Midshipman makes, and you can make additional deposits at anytime throughout the year. With the Yard Card, there is no credit card interest or charges, no chance of overdrawing the account, and no need to carry cash or credits cards around the Yard. Can Midshipmen view thier MidCard Account Information?

Midshipmen can get a listing of their MidCard account activity when logged into this website. To see your MidCard activity for a date range, go to the Yard Card Account Manager and click on “MidCard Account”. Enter a Start Date and End Date and click “View Statement”. You can print the Statement to any printer currently installed on your computer.

What do I do if I lose my Yard Card?

If you lost or had your card stolen, you can freeze your account by logging in to the Yard Card Account Manager and clicking on Suspend Card. You must also report your lost or stolen card to the Yard Card Cash Office. You can get a replacement card at the Yard Card Cash office. The may be a nominal replacement fee.

What are the Terms and Conditions of using the Yard Card?

Yard Card
A single declining balance, multipurpose fund is a available to Midshipman, Faculty/Staff and Alumni of the United States Naval Academy. Cardholders who elect to deposit funds into a Yard Card account agree to be bound by the terms and conditions disclosed herein. Naval Academy Business Services Division administers the Yard Card flexible spending account.

Card Holder Agreement Form
All cardholders are required to fill out a Card Holder Agreement Form prior to receiving a Yard Card. Your signature and acceptance of the Yard Card constitutes agreement to the terms and conditions contained in the Yard Card Card Holder Agreement Form. The Card Holder Agreement Form is available for review on the Yard Card web page at yardcard.usna.edu at anytime.

Insufficient Funds
Your Yard Card transactions will be verified prior to the completion of a transaction. In the rare event a transaction cannot be verified due to a systems problem and a purchase occurs with insufficient funds in the Yard Card, the account will reflect a negative balance. The owed funds will automatically be deducted from the next deposit. Should the account be closed with a negative account balance, the balance will be billed directly to the participant. Should a deposit to the account be returned for insufficient funds, Naval Academy Business Services Division may deduct the deposit and any associated fees from the Yard Card account.

Errors or Disputes
It is important that the account holder review the account history available online at the Yard Card web page at yardcard.usna.edu on at least a monthly basis. The Yard Card web page also provides cardholders with an option that will automatically email the account history statement at the end of each month. If there is any questionable transaction, refer to steps 1-4 below. Errors on receipts should be addressed with the business of origin. If the account holder is unable to resolve the dispute with the merchant, refer to steps 1-4 below.

1. Discrepancies must be reported to the Yard Card Cah Office in the midshipmen Store no later than sixty (60) days after the discrepancy appears. If an account holder makes an oral request, it must be followed by a written notification within ten (10) business days. If the Yard Card Cash Office is not notified within sixty (60) days of the discrepancy, the participant may be liable for any error or erroneous charges.

2. The following items must be provided when discrepancies are reported: (1) account holder name and card number, (2) description of the transaction in question and a clear explanation of the discrepancy, and (3) dollar amount of the transaction. In the event that a merchant places a hold or deducts an amount different from the amount of purchase(s), the Yard Card Cash Office will work with the cardholder and the merchant to address the discrepancy.

3. The Yard Card Cash Office will investigate the discrepancy. The result of the investigation will be ordinarily made available within ten (10) business days of notification; however, if needed the Yard Card Cash Office may take up to forty-five (45) days to conduct the investigation in which event the account will be provisionally credited.

4. The Yard Card Cash Office will correct any error within 24 hours of determination and account holder will be notified. If no error is found, a written explanation will be provided within three (3) business days after the close of the investigation. In the event there was no error and the account was provisionally credited, the Yard Card Cash Office may charge the account holder for the amount of any provisional credit previously provided.

The Yard Card Account Manager is actually a secure website embedded into the Naval Academy Business Services Division website. You can prove this to yourself by Clicking on the “Return to Sign in Page” link at the top of many of the pages. Clicking this link will lose the reference to the www.usnabsd.com website and you will see that actually is the secure website – https://ecard.sequoiars.com/usna/ecardcardholder/
